Project Manager: Ship inspection

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of ship inspection projects, from initial scheduling and budgeting to managing teams of inspectors and delivering comprehensive reports to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for assigned ship inspections.
    • Coordinate all logistical aspects of inspections, including scheduling inspectors, arranging access to vessels, and securing necessary permits.
    • Manage and track project progress against established timelines and budgets.
    • Identify and address potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure clear and consistent communication with clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Inspection Oversight:
    • Lead and oversee the work of inspection teams, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and company standards.
    • Review and analyze inspection reports, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
    • Liaise with classification societies, port authorities, and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inspection quality and efficiency.
  • Business Development:
    • Assist with the development and implementation of business development initiatives.
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to identify new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the maritime industry.
  • Proven experience in planning, executing, and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and project management software.
